About the Role

A Special Education Teacher in California is responsible for providing tailored educational services to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support to achieve their academic and developmental goals. This role involves developing individualized education programs (IEPs), implementing specialized instructional strategies, and collaborating with other educators and parents to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • An earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university. 

  • A valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential or equivalent authorizing teaching service in a specific disability area.

  • Valid first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificates

  • Letter of Introduction

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation

  • Fingerprinting

  • Tuberculosis (TB) Test

  • California Department of Justice Clarence

  • A valid California Drivers' License
