About the Role
A Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) in California is responsible for providing specialized educational services to students with hearing impairments, ensuring they receive appropriate instruction to achieve their academic and developmental goals. This role involves developing individualized education programs (IEPs), implementing specialized teaching strategies, and collaborating with other educators, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
Possess a bachelor’s degree in deaf education, special education, or a related field. A master’s degree is often preferred. 
Credential: Hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing teaching of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, with an English Learner (EL) authorization
Valid first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificates
Letter of Introduction
