About the Role

Under the guidance of the Manager, Special Services, and other assigned supervisors, the Physical Therapist delivers assessment, consultation, and direct therapy services to students with special needs enrolled in or referred to special education programs. This role involves collaborating with general and special education staff, as well as parents, to identify effective strategies for instructional support and promoting sensorimotor function in children with disabling conditions.

Requirements

Physical Therapist I: 

  • Proof of Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

Physical Therapist II:

  • PT I requirement and the following

  • Proof of Master's degree in Physical Therapy or at least one of the following:

    • Neuro-Development Therapy Certification 

    • Board Certification in Pediatrics

Physical Therapist III:

  • PT II requirement and the following

  • Evidence of attainment of A Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) degree in physical therapy

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificates

  • Letter of Introduction

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation

  • Fingerprinting

  • Tuberculosis (TB) Test

  • California Department of Justice Clarence

  • A valid California Drivers' License
